Flemington, NJ

Beverly Jean Maksymovich, affectionately known as "Jeanie," passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, in her hometown of Flemington, New Jersey, where she was born on May 3, 1955. Jeanie was a beloved figure in her community, cherished by her family and friends for her vibrant personality that truly made her the life of the party.

Jeanie dedicated a significant part of her professional life to education and support. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at Houghton-Mifflin Company, providing invaluable support to the sales force. Later, she pursued her passion for teaching as a Special Education Teacher in the Clinton Public Schools for many years, until her retirement in 2019. Her commitment to her students and their families exemplified her dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of others.

A proud graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School, Jeanie furthered her education at Centenary College and Trenton State College, continuing to bring her insights and knowledge into the classroom.

Jeanie had a passion for life outside of her career. She was an enthusiastic traveler, fondly remembering her trips with her husband, Bill, to Atlantic City and taking the Cape May Ferry to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. In her leisure time, she enjoyed music, often listening to the songs of Neil Diamond, Michael Bublé, Ed Sheeran, and many other favorites. She also took delight in hobbies such as knitting, watercolor painting, tending to her bountiful flower garden, playing a good game of Farkle or enjoying a meal at a favorite restaurant. Jeanie was an active participant in her community's recreational activities, enjoying pickleball and golf, where she spread joy and cheer to those around her.

Jeanie is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, William Maksymovich, and her family, including her brothers and sisters-in-laws: Robert and Maria Bowlby of Ringoes, NJ; Ralph and Cathy Bowlby of Frenchtown, NJ; Ronald and Kathy Bowlby of Flemington, NJ; William and Mary Ellen Bowlby of Flemington, NJ, and her brother-in-law, Stephen Maksymovich of Hopewell, NJ. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews and many, many friends who will carry fond memories of her spirit and kindness.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lillis (Somerville) Bowlby, whose legacy she proudly upheld through her compassion and dedication to family and community.
