Beverly June Sims Palmer 75, of Flemington, New Jersey passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ. She was born on July 1, 1930 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She attended school at Colorado Springs High School and played with the Colorado Springs Symphony Orchestra from 1945-1948. She graduated with a Bachelors of Music in violin performance from the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO in 1952.
In September, 1948 two music majors met in a practice room and shared season concert seats next to each other. They walked down the aisle together on December 27, 1949. On that day, Beverly was united in marriage to James Lee Palmer. They raised five children.
After settling in NJ, Beverly played violin professionally with the Trenton Symphony and the Delaware Valley Philharmonic orchestra. She later worked with the Senior Citizens Center in Lambertville and volunteered with the Parent's Anonymous hotline in New Jersey. Known for a good sense of humor, good cooking and resourcefulness, a love of music and holiday celebrations, Beverly found the good in everything and everyone. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in April 2002.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Terri Lynne Palmer and her husband Steve of Williamsburg, VA, and grand sons Christopher James Brewster of Laixi China and Evan Charles Brewster of Milford Connecticut; her son, Leon Jay Palmer and his wife Carol of Locktown, NJ, and granddaughter Aurora Marie James Palmer; her daughter, Dana Lee Palmer and her husband Jeff of Freeville, NY, and granddaughter Sydney Lee Palmer Bishop; her son Daniel Keith Palmer of Easton, PA; and her son, David James Palmer and his wife Stacia of Phillipsburg, NJ and grandchildren Evalyn Eileen Palmer, Beverly Susan (Susie) Palmer and James Daniel Harry (Jamie) Palmer. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Lucille Sims Rickard of Colorado Springs, Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents Viola Esther Essman and Irving Edwin Sims and husband, James Lee Palmer. Beverly's ashes will be buried at a later date.
