Beverly Tarkington, age 68 years, of Flemington, NJ, died peacefully and without pain on Thursday, June 23, 2011, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in West Townsend, MA, June 11, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Anne Campbell Bishop.

She graduated from Plainfield (NJ) High School in 1961 and studied early Childhood Education at the Philadelphia College of Bible.

She married the love of her life, Warren McNair Tarkington on September 10, 1965 who pre-deceased her on January 17, 1994. She had formerly resided in Greenbrook, NJ and Lebanon, NJ, moving to Flemington over twenty years ago.

She had worked in food service at the High Bridge Middle School and had also worked at the coffee shop at Exxon Research in Clinton, NJ. She was most recently employed at the Stop and Shop in Raritan Township, NJ, retiring six years ago.

Surviving are a brother, Dave Bishop, of Somerset, NJ; a daughter, Rebecca J. Tarkington, of Mount Bethel, PA; and a son, Warren D. Tarkington, of Oxford, NJ.

Beverly was a very religious, beautiful lady whose faith carried her through many tribulations. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A Memorial and Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 3 PM in the Evangel Chapel, 505 State Route 28, Bridgewater, NJ. Interment will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822, or to the American Diabetes Association.
