Brian Thomas Millar, age 51, died Tuesday, November 7, 2023 in Lambertville NJ.
Born March 7, 1972 in Princeton NJ, Brian was the son of Thomas Millar and Ellen (Van Noy) Millar. He grew up in the Woodsville section of Hopewell Township and graduated from West Windsor Plainsboro High School in the Class of 1990.
After graduation from high school, Brian joined the United States Marine Corps where he served his country proudly as a Corporal and a Recon Specialist. Brian was dual-cool or double-trouble, a Marine that possessed both the parachutist and diver badges. He was a certified dive master as well as a qualified sharpshooter and rifleman. Brian served tours in Afghanistan, Iraq, and on the Texas-Mexico border earning several meritorious medals during his service.
Upon completion of his Military service, Brian returned to NJ and worked in construction on various interior and exterior commercial projects for the Princeton Local Carpenter’s Union and later worked on residential projects with his brother, Jeff, at Millar Construction LLC.
Brian was a NY Giants football fan. He enjoyed fishing trips, playing golf, and was an avid outdoorsman, spending time camping, fishing and boating. He cherished the time he spent with his extended family and his beloved service dog, Kiwi.
Brian is survived by his parents, Thomas Millar and step-mother, Ellen of The Villages FL, his mother, Ellen (Van Noy) Millar of Monona WI, his brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Debbie Millar of Ringoes NJ, his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Chris Uschan of Cottage Grove WI, his nieces and nephews, Kelly, Andrew, Emma, Kasey, Lucianna, and Nicholas, as well as his great-niece, Skylar.
Memorial services for Brian will be at 5:00 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ 08822. Interment with Military Honors will be at 9:00 am on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown PA. Calling hour will be Thursday from 4:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
