Buddy O. Wern, age 75, died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ.
Born December 1, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY, to Samuel and Ingrid (Jorgensen) Wern, he lived in Fairless Hills, PA and Pequannack, NJ, before moving to the Hunterdon County area in 1984. Buddy served from 1957 through 1966 in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a boiler machinery inspector for various insurance companies.
Predeceased by his parents, Buddy is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice (Dowling) Wern, his daughters Maureen Hill of Annandale, NJ, and Alicia Ghalli of Annandale, NJ, his sons, Brian Wern of Bayonne, NJ, William Wern, of South Amboy, NJ, and Brendan Wern of Hampton, NJ, a sister, Diane Pretty of Milenville, PA, and eight grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Interment will be on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 1 PM in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 820 Highland Road, Newtown, PA. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
