Caitlin Margaret Boys, age 37, died Thursday, August 22, 2019 in Maryland.
Born July 16, 1982 in Hackettstown NJ, Caitlin was the daughter of Daniel and Alice (Schwartz) Boys of Port Murray NJ. She lived in Port Murray for many years and graduated with the Class of 2000 from Warren Hills High School, and then graduated with Honors from Harford Community College (in Maryland) with a degree in Nursing.
Caitlin was a gifted musician, playing many instruments including clarinet and piano. She was a member of the jazz club, marching band and concert bands while in high school, and medaled in bass clarinet with the NJ State Orchestra during that time.
Her eclectic music collection and love of reading entertained her; she was passionate about cats and their welfare and had a special love for her Sphinxes Pig and Dobie. But the real loves of her life were her niece Fiona Violet and nephew River Daniel, the children of her beloved sister and champion Tess Boys, whose support of Caitlin over many years in so many ways is a lasting blessing.
Caitlin worked as a Nurses Aide for years with the geriatric patients and shared a loving bond with them. As a nurse, she was a member of the kidney and liver transplant team at Johns Hopkins University Hospital.
Caitlin had a strong desire to work with and give back to others that struggled with addiction. She worked at Phoenix House and the Maryland Recovery Center and was engaged to begin work at Recovery Centers of America.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Interment will follow in Bloomsbury Cemetery in Stewartsville NJ. Calling hour will be Thursday from 12 noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
