Carol Balik

Carol Balik, age 86 years, of Ringoes, NJ, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Somerville, NJ, October 2, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Genive Schenck Passerello.

A Flemington High School class of 1955 graduate, Carol was an avid member of the East Amwell Seniors Club and the Jersey Gypsies Camping Club. A long-time member of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ, Carol was active in teaching many religious education classes. During her free time she enjoyed country music and cooking.

She is pre-deceased by her husband Steve H. Balik in 2014 and one brother Thomas Passerello in 2020.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Cynthia Prall Balik of Sterling, VA; one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Mark Hurban of Flemington, NJ; two siblings, Betty Shew of Florida and Arthur Passerello of Bridgewater, NJ; and six grandchildren, Lauren Balik, Brian and Allison Balik, and Ann, Christopher, and Scott Hurban.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 12, 2022, at 10:30 AM in the St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Entombment will follow in the St. Magdalen Mausoleum, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 1:00-3:00 PM in the funeral home.
