Carolyn Shebey, age 97 years, of East Amwell Township, NJ, went to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday, June 2, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Dunellen, NJ, November 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Andela (Isakovich) Borrow. She grew up in North Plainfield, NJ and graduated from North Plainfield High School. She then married John C. Shebey, Sr., and the two lived in Plainfield, NJ where her late husband was a firefighter until 1975. She had lived in Ringoes, NJ since 1978.
A homemaker and devout Christian, she was a long-time member of the Cornerstone Christian Church, Delaware Township, NJ, and enjoyed attending the bible study there.
In addition, Carolyn loved gardening, flowers, and animals, especially birds. Carolyn had many birdfeeders in her yard and enjoyed watching the various types of birds fly in and out of the yard. She always stopped in nature and praised God for creating something so wonderful.
She was easy to love, and in turn, she loved her family and loved doing things with them, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Shebey, Sr., who died in 2008, as well as her sisters, Gloria and Audrey. Surviving are two children and their spouses, John Shebey, Jr. and his wife Elaine, and Nancy Moyer and her husband George (Josh); four grandchildren, John III, Carolyn, Laura, and Christopher; seven great-grandchildren, Kiri Ann, Alexander, Madalyn, John IV, Elaine, Michael, and Benny; and her feline companion, Daisy.
