Catherine A. Bacon

Catherine A. Bacon, age 71 years, of Raritan Township NJ, died Monday, October 10, 2016 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township.

Born March 24, 1945, in Morristown NJ, Cathy was the daughter of the late Henry and Ellen (Casey) Smith. She lived most of her life in the Johnsonburg NJ area before moving to Flemington two years ago.

Cathy worked at ShopRite in Mansfield NJ for 28 years prior to her retirement. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a passion for spiritual counseling and a love of reading books. Cathy was a long-time member of Abundant Life Community Church in Port Murray NJ, where she attended church events regularly for many years.

In addition to her parents, Cathy was predeceased by her brother, Henry Smith Jr. and her sister, Marie Loring. She is survived by her husband, Dennis A. Bacon, her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis M. Bacon and Stacy McMurray of Coxsackie NY, her daughter, Denise M. Bacon of Flemington NJ, her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie A. Fagan and Brian Condon of Flemington NJ, and her four grandchildren, Ashley, Michael, Tori, and Brandon.

A Celebration of Cathy’s life will be held promptly at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Abundant Life Community Church, 21 Cherry Tree Bend Road, Port Murray, NJ 07865. Cremation was private and under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
