Catherine Rose Weidler

Catherine Rose Melicharek Clark Weidler, 73, born August 6, 1936, died peacefully Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach, FL after a courageous fight with cancer.

Born in the Bronx, NY; past resident of Middlesex, NJ, Ringoes, NJ, Uhlerstown, PA, Wade, NC, Bradley Gardens, NJ, Raleigh, NC, and Belhaven, NC.

She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Weidler, Jr., Sebastian, FL; daughters, Doreen Clark (Lewis Copulsky) of Raleigh, NC, Lauren Clark of Newark, DE, Colleen Clark Kessler (Michael) of Vero Beach, FL, Peggy Clark of Sebastian, FL; brother, James Melicharek of Upper Black Eddy, PA; sister-in-law, Lois Weidler Slattery of Sebastian, FL; grandsons, Jacob Kessler, Benjamin Copulsky, Joseph Kessler, Daniel Copulsky.

She was predeceased by her father, John Melicharek, mother, Mary Josephine (Mollie) nee Donnelly and sister, Mary Josephine (Josie) Melicharek Chaplinski.

She was formerly Head Bookkeeper at Response Analysis Corp., Princeton, NJ. In partnership with her husband, she had owned and operated: Charlie's River House Drive-in Restaurant, Uhlerstown, PA; KOA Campground, Wade, NC; Shuffle Inn, Bradley Gardens, NJ and Pioneer Tavern, Iselin, NJ. She also was an Office Manager at Wood Partners (Paces Construction), Raleigh, NC and a Customer Service Representative at Hale Groves, Wabasso, FL. She was a former member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Raleigh Does, and the Lutheran Church of Sebastian; more recently she was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian Woman's Club (GFWC), the Sebastian Elks and the Women of the Moose. In retirement she also volunteered as a reading tutor with Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She was an avid reader, enjoyed Broadway plays, dancing, traveling and family events.

FLORIDA SERVICES: Visitation will be 5-7 pm on Monday, June 28, 2010 at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian, FL with Father John Morrissey, officiating.

NEW JERSEY SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Victories Church, Route 519, Baptistown, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
