Charles C. Huffman, Jr., age 92 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA.

Born in Hopewell Township, NJ, June 14, 1916, he was the son of the late Charles C. and Anna Hulley Huffman, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Delaware Township.

He was a farmer and then worked as a courier for the Hunterdon County National Bank, and later was employed by the Hunterdon County Road Department.

A graduate of Lambertville High School, he was a member of the Old Rocks Church, West Amwell Township, NJ, and the Sandy Ridge Church of Delaware Township, NJ and played on both churches dart team.

He was past president of the Sandy Ridge Cemetery Association, and a member of Orpheus Lodge #137 F & A.M., Stockton, NJ. He was co-founder of the Dilts Corner baseball field located on his family farm and deemed to be the best baseball field in Hunterdon County.

His wife, Miriam Niece Huffman, died in 1997. He was also pre-deceased by two sisters, Cora Venable Harbourt and Julia Huffman. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Charles C. and Maggie Huffman III, and two granddaughters, Rachael Miriam Huffman and Rebecca Shea Huffman, all of Delaware Township, NJ, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM in the Old Rocks Church, Mt. Airy-Harbourton Road, West Amwell Township, NJ. Interment will be in Sandy Ridge Cemetery, Delaware Township, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 10 AM until time of service in the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
