Charles E. Smith

Charles E. Smith, age 89 years, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in the Foothill Acres Nursing Home, Hillsborough, NJ.

Born in Raritan Township, NJ, October 21, 1924, he was the son of the late William and Mary Ellen Rake Smith.

Charles was a lifelong resident of Flemington, NJ, and worked as a farmer. He was employed by Dvoor Brothers Dairy Farm for fifty years.

Surviving are his wife, Janet; daughter, Linda Saunders; two grandchildren: David Saunders and Michelle Penta; five great-grandchildfren: Nicholas Penta, Kylie Penta, Hannah Hutchins, Luke Saunders, and Megan Saunders; a brother, Jake Smith; and four sisters: Hazel Novak, Betty Smith, Bessie Beil, and Edith Thatcher.

Funeral services and burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ, will be held privately under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
