Charles M. Runkle, age 76 years, of West Amwell Township, NJ, died on Friday, October 23, 2009 at his residence.

Born in Trenton, NJ, April 28, 1933, son of the late Clifford and Carrie Mathews Runkle, he had resided in West Amwell Township, NJ all his life.

Mr. Runkle was a mechanic with the Delaware Joint Toll Bridge Commission until retiring.

A founding member of the Delaware Valley Old Time Power & Equipment Club, Mr. Runkle was a member of the Mt. Airy Presbyterian Church, and the Exempt Association of the West Amwell Township Fire Company.

Surviving are his wife, Norma Rogers Runkle; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and David Stokes of West Amwell Township, NJ and Nancy and Brian Heitzenroeder of West Amwell Township, NJ; three grandchildren, Ginger, David and Douglas Stokes; a great grandchild, Jayden Stokes; and his pets, Dime, Glen, Chaos, Henry and the family cats.

Funeral services will take place Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Mt. Airy, NJ.
