Charles P. “Bucky” Zimmerman, age 86, died Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township, surrounded by his family.
Born February 2, 1930 in Somerville, NJ, son of the late George and Luella (Stenner) Zimmerman, Bucky lived in the Hunterdon County area for more than 40 years, where he was a self-employed plumber in the Somerville and Hunterdon County areas.
An avid hunter and trap shooter, he hunted small game and deer. Bucky and his wife, Charlotte, could be found camping with family throughout the United States, taking many trips to visit with their children in the Western part of the country. He enjoyed watching professional sports on television, but most of all, Bucky loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching their many sporting events.
Predeceased by his parents and his brother, George Zimmerman, Bucky is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Fipps) Zimmerman; his four children, Judy Lambert of Philipsburg NJ, Pamela Zimmerman of New Harmony UT, Jack Zimmerman of Cranford NJ, and Robyn Pettingill of Redmond OR; his sisters, Lillian Connors of Princeton ME, and Beatrice Staats of Hillsborough NJ, his brother, Albert Zimmerman of South Carolina, as well as his seven grandsons, two granddaughters, and two great-granddaughters.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ officiated by the Rev. Warren Johnson. Interment will follow in Sandbrook Cemetery in Delaware Township NJ. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
