Charles “Pete” Suydam, age 81 years, of Taylorsville, NC, died on Sunday May 25, 2008 at his home.
Born in Quakertown, NJ, January 6, 1927, he was son of the late LeRoy and Olive Leigh Suydam. He had resided in Quakertown, NJ all his life until moving to Taylorsville last year.
He retired as a Lab Technician with the Union Carbide, Bound Brook, NJ. He was a U.S. Navy Seabee Veteran of World War II, a graduate of Flemington High School, and an avid member of the Quakertown Fire Co. and Recreational Club. A member of the Host lodge, F. & A.M. of High Bridge, NJ; The Tall Cedars of Lebanon, NJ; Flemington American Legion Post #159 and Flemington VFW Post #7856.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Salter Suydam; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Tom Druckenmiller of Taylorsville, N.C.; Bonnie and Marty Baker of Covington, PA; Two grandchildren, Ethan Owen Baker and Mikaileigh Baker, both of Covington, PA.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ. Calling Hours will be held Friday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
