Cheryl A. Cortina

Cheryl A. Cortina, age 58, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014 on Earth Day surrounded by her family.

Born November 3, 1955 in Trenton, NJ, the daughter of the late Americo and Florence (Gillispie) Cortina, Cheryl was a graduate of Hamilton West High School in 1973. She moved to East Amwell in 1977 and was a member of St. Magdalen Church in Flemington for many years.

Cheryl was a Master Gardener for Hunterdon County with Rutgers University for the past 17 years and she could be found tending and sharing her bounty from the large vegetable and flower gardens, as well as doing presentations on her gardens. When not at home, she could be found on the beaches of Long Beach Island. She enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her family and many friends. They all enjoyed her many various culinary creations, especially her baked goods and her jokes.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, John Hupka, whom she married in 1976, her son Jeremiah Hupka, her daughter, Jessica Hupka, and her grandson, Anthony Rake. She is also survived by a large extended family including her beloved aunts, uncles, and many close friends.

Funeral arrangements are private under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ.
