Christina Mershon Chamberlin, age 73 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Monday, March 22, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, February 5, 1948, she was the daughter of the late James H. and May E. Harrison Mershon. Christina was a descendant of Henri Marchand, a member of the Mershon Association in Lawrenceville, NJ and a Daughter of the American Revolution (DAR).
A graduate of Somerville High School, Christina worked as a legal secretary for Herr and Fisher Law Office, Flemington, NJ, and was a business office secretary for Hunterdon Medical Center. While working at Hunterdon Medical Center, Christina met Donald Lee Chamberlin who she married on July 8, 1967. Through the years of being a homemaker she took great pride in raising her three daughters, and developing life-long friends from Somerville High School, Raritan Gardens and the community as a whole.
Christina believed in volunteering in the community, first as a candy striper at the Somerset Medical Center and later at St. Magdalen Church and the Flemington Presbyterian Church feeding those in need. She and her daughter Cory also started Art Attack in Flemington NJ, a paint-your-own pottery studio to give back to the community by providing a creative outlet for all to enjoy.
A devoted member of the Flemington Presbyterian Church, Christina loved to travel with her family. Some of her favorite memories were family vacations to Ogunquit Beach in Maine and reuniting yearly on the beach with friends for almost 70 years, Naples, Florida and Los Angeles, California. She also enjoyed raising her dogs, bowling, playing tennis, and was an avid walker.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Donald Lee Chamberlin in 2007. Surviving are her daughters Cherie Mershon Chamberlin of Flemington, NJ, Jamie Chamberlin Morri and her husband Brian Joseph Morri of Los Angeles, CA, and Cory Christina Chamberlin of Flemington, NJ; two grandchildren, Marcus Mershon Cassidy (and his father David Cassidy) and Benjamin Chamberlin Morri and one brother Mark J. Mershon.
Funeral services will be held privately in Lawrenceville Cemetery, Lawrenceville, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
