Christine L. O'Brien

Christine L. (Wizner) O’Brien, age 78 years, of Kingwood Township, NJ passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Kingwood Township, NJ, December 4, 1946, daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Trafnik) Wizner. Chris resided in Kingwood Township most of her life.

She was a graduate of Delaware Valley Regional High School, Class of 1965.

Chris was formerly employed by the Hunterdon County Surrogate’s Office and Hunterdon Mill Supply of Lebanon, NJ, before retiring. 

Chris enjoyed traveling with her husband John, especially their annual trip for nearly 40 years to Marco Island, FL, and spending time with their friends and family.  She was also a member of the Kingwood Merry Mixers.  

Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her five grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Jacqueline Furman.

Surviving are her husband of fifty-seven years, John J. O’Brien; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Mike Zengel of Kingwood Township; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Tracie O’Brien of Olympia, WA; five grandchildren, Gregory Zengel, Sarah Zengel, Aidan O’Brien, Maiti O’Brien and Rory O’Brien; and three sisters, Elizabeth Greaney, Marianne Smith, and Georgelyn Wizner.

Chris’s family will receive friends and relatives for a visitation starting at 10:00 am - 12 noon on Friday, January 3, 2025, in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ, followed by a brief Prayer Service at 12 noon. Interment in St. Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ will be private.
