Claire H. Cahill

Claire H. Cahill, age 90 years, of Clinton Township, NJ, died on Sunday, June 3, 2012, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Newark, NJ, May 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Helen Anderson Headley. She had formerly resided in Cranford, NJ and Rahway, NJ before moving to Clinton Township in 1997.

A past member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Rahway, NJ, Mrs. Cahill was a nurse's aide for sixteen years in Rahway Hospital, Rahway, NJ, before retiring in 1985.

She was pre-deceased by her husband of forty-five years, John W. Cahill, who died in 1987 as well as by two siblings, William A. Headley in 2001 and Helen A. Lewis in 1988.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, John W. Cahill, Jr. and Patricia of Madeira Beach, FL, Brian R. and Vikki Cahill of Bushkill Falls, PA and Helen C. and Hans Diesel of Clinton Township, NJ; a brother, Fred C. Headley, Jr. of Bluffton, SC; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will take place Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ preceded by visitation from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Rahway Cemetery, Rahway, NJ.
