Clarence L. Hall, age 87 years, of Morris Plains, NJ, died on Friday, November 21, 2008 at his home, with his family by his side.
Born in Stanton, NJ, December 6, 1920, son of the late Charles and Georgia Mae Smith Hall, he had formerly resided in Stanton, NJ, then in Odessa, FL for fourteen years before moving to Morris Plains in 2003.
A United States Army Veteran of World War II, serving in Africa and Italy, Mr. Hall was formerly Chief Maintenance Engineer for the Hunterdon Developmental Center, Clinton, NJ.
A Communicant of St. Christopher Parish Roman Catholic Church, Parsippany, NJ, he was a fifty plus year member of the Amateur Trap Shooting Association where he won several awards.
His wife of fifty-nine years, Minnie A. Hall, died in 2007. Most who knew them said that Clarence and Minnie were, "A match made in Heaven."
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Georgeanne and Glenn Valis of Hillsborough, NJ and Sandra and Frank Neglia of Morris Plains, NJ; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Nancy Hall of Middlesex, NJ; a brother, Chester Hall of Stanton, NJ; ten grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
A son, Craig Hall, died in 1983.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Christopher Parish Roman Catholic Church, 1050 Littleton Road, Parsippany, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Newell Cemetery, Stanton, NJ. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
