Courtenay Thomas Balint, age 71 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, formerly of East Amwell Township, NJ, died on Friday, March 28, 2014 in Holly Manor Center, Mendham, NJ.
Born in Newport News, VA, June 1, 1942, daughter of the late Edwin and Lena Mae Morgan Thomas, she was born and raised in Virginia and lived in the Hunterdon County, NJ area for many years.
She was formerly an executive assistant with Mobil Oil in Fairfax, VA and Pennington, NJ.
A longtime member of the United First Presbyterian Church of Amwell (Larison's Corner Church), Courtenay was also a longtime and active member of the Amwell Valley Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid quilter and despite her illness, managed to finish a blanket for her youngest grandchild just this past week, a task she was very proud of completing.
Her husband, John Thomas "Jack" Balint, died in 2009.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Willey and Edward Lovak of Falls Church, VA; a son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin and Kiyomi Willey of Nishinomiya, Japan; four grandchildren, Togo, Emika, Misato and Sachie Willey; two sisters-in-law, Joan Mahon of Ewing, NJ and Judith Kelly of Hopewell, NJ; two brothers-in-law, Robert Balint of Ewing, NJ and Dr. Paul Roediger; as well as many other loving friends.
Memorial Services will take place on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the United First Presbyterian Church of Amwell, 1000 Old York Road, Larison's Corner, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Inurnment will follow in Amwell Ridge Cemetery, Larison's Corner, NJ. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the Church.
