Daniel John Horner, age 67 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at his home.
Born in Trenton, NJ, November 14, 1946, son of the late Norman and Mildred Claire Allen Horner, he was a lifelong Hunterdon County resident.
Growing up on the family farm in southern New Jersey, Dan always enjoyed farming, gardening and was an avid Nascar fan. He worked hard to support his family and for many years was a self employed mason. He also worked for a period of time as an assembler with Hunterdon Transformer Co. and additionally owned and operated Dan's Powerwashing Co., Flemington, NJ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Horner.
Surviving are his wife of thirty-five years, Peggy Hettman Horner; eight children and their spouses, Allen and wife, Jane Hendricks of Raritan Township, NJ; Mary and husband, Brian Morris of Reigelsville, PA; Joe and wife, Kim Hendricks of Thornton, CO; Cathy and husband, Mark Anderson of Sebastian, FL; Daniel J. Horner, Jr. and wife, Debbie Horner of Phillipsburg, NJ; Rick and wife, Patty Hendricks of Solebury, PA, James Henricks of Delaware Township, NJ and James and wife, Kim Horner of Raritan Township, NJ; eighteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; and seven siblings and their spouses, Fred and Margerie Horner of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Charlie and Sally Horner of Stockton, NJ, Betty Lou and Ken Thomas of Paris, KY, Joe and Karen Horner of Hillside, CA, JoAnne Young of Browns Mills, NJ, David Horner of Phillipsburg, NJ and Brian Horner of Texas City, TX.
Funeral Services will take place at Noon on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ, 08822. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
