David Barnes

David Barnes, 34, of Flemington, NJ, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Born in Flemington, NJ on November 14, 1988, David grew up on Lower Ferry Road in Delaware Township, a home filled with an abundance of love…AND an abundance of boys. He loved the woods, the Great Crate Races, Delaware Township School, and his family and friends.

David was a gentle soul, kind to everyone he met. That, however, did not keep him from living on the edge – he often had to be “rescued” from the wrath of Mom by his loving aunts, uncles, and grandparents. He enjoyed mountain biking, gardening, cooking, history novels/movies, and camping. One of his all-time favorite experiences was survival camp in the NJ pine barrens. David was a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, fiancé, and friend who left a mark on so many.

David is survived by his mother and father, Susan & Edward Barnes of Beverly Hills, FL, his brothers, Kevin Barnes & his wife Emily of Evans, Ga, Michael Barnes of Stockton, NJ, and Chris Barnes & his wife Lynn of Sussex, NJ, his fiancé Kathy Boroska Sweeney & her children of Flemington, NJ, his maternal grandfather Charles Higgins & his wife LanFen, his paternal grandfather Edward Barnes Sr. of Epworth, Georgia, several aunts, uncles, cousins, two nieces, a nephew, and many friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ and will be private. Memorial gifts may be made to NJSH Pet Rescue, 95 West Main Street, STE 5-226, Chester, NJ.
