David Giles, Jr., age 86 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at his home.
Born in Scranton, PA, June 26, 1927, son of the late David Giles, Sr. and Alice Hunter Giles, he had resided in Readington since 1961, having formerly lived in Manville, NJ.
A United States Navy Veteran of World War II, David was a machinist for Egan Machinery, Somerville, NJ.
He loved saltwater fishing, crabbing, cooking, his beloved Boston Red Sox but above all else, spending time with his devoted family. He was a longtime member of the Readington Reformed Church.
He was pre-deceased by a sister, Phyllis Inda in 2012.
Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Dolores Kerico Giles; a son, Dan Giles, Sr. of Readington Township, NJ, a daughter and son-in-law, Sue Giles and Cliff Price, Jr., a son, Ken Giles; a sister, Alice Chaplinsky of Raritan Township, NJ; five grandchildren, Daniel Giles, Jr., Matthew Giles, Tiffany Giles, Lauren Price and Courtney Price; and three great grandchildren, Kate, Will and Maddie Giles.
Memorial Services will take place on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Readington Reformed Church, 124 Readington Road, Readington, NJ. There are no calling hours.
