David Guy Santos, age 56 years, of Flemington Borough, NJ, passed away the evening of Friday, January 26, 2024, at his home.
Born in Khorat, Thailand (now known as Nakhon Ratchasima), December 15, 1967, he was the son of Dennis Santos and the late Kumpoo (Srichum) Santos.
After the conflict in Southeast Asia, he emigrated to the United States in 1973 with his adopted father, Dennis, who was in the United States Air Force. The family lived in Guam, Georgia, South Carolina, and Texas. In February of 2001, he attained his United States citizenship, something he was very proud of. Later in life, he also resided in Easton, PA, Nazareth, PA, and then Hunterdon County, NJ for the last three decades.
An arborist, he was formerly employed by several tree services, including the Theophilus Brothers.
In his spare time, Dave enjoyed a multitude of different hobbies. He was an avid Washington Commanders and New York Yankees fan. Moreover, he was extremely well-read and could speak to you intelligently about philosophy and religion. A Buddhist at heart, he loved pointing out the correlations between Buddhism and Christianity. In addition, he enjoyed gaming, especially playing the computer game Vega Conflict for hours daily. Finally, he had a deep appreciation for all genres of music, especially Rock N’ Roll.
He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his love for animals, and his calm and clear thinking. In fact, he was not only a clear thinker, but a compassionate, generous, sweet man.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kumpoo Santos in 2010.
He is survived by his father, Dennis Santos of Sumter, SC; his brother, Christopher Santos and his wife Vanessa of Irma, SC; his three “brainiac” nieces, Samantha, Laura Bea, and Sabrina (he was very proud of them); several extended relatives in Rhode Island and Minnesota; his aunt, Kumpa Srichum and cousins of Khon Kaen, Thailand; as well as his long-time companion of 28 years, Lisa Keiderling of Flemington, NJ. Lastly, he will be missed by his pets: Sunny, Romeo, Violet Mae, and Victor (aka Frankenstein).
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Arrangements and cremation services are private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. For further information or to send an online condolence, please visit his Tribute Wall at www.holcombefisher.com.
