David J. Pidgeon, age 61 years, of Orange, NJ, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at UMDNJ - University Hospital, Newark, NJ.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, August 21, 1962, he was the son of the late Jean and Walter H. Pidgeon, Sr., and grew up in Bayonne, NJ and Hoboken, NJ and was often nostalgic about life in Bayonne, saying it was “his favorite spot in the world”.
Although David was not dealt the perfect hand in life, he still managed to make the most of it. A homebody, he enjoyed watching talk shows and movies, and had an affinity for fire trucks. He was also a “foodie” and loved Italian food, especially spaghetti and meatballs.
He was simple, laid back, easy-going, and had a great sense of humor too. Additionally, he had an unbelievable memory and ability to recall exact times and places of events. David was also caring and paid attention to those around him; he was personable, mindful of others and was always looking out for everyone.
Finally, he meant what he said, and he said what he meant. He was direct and straightforward; you always knew where you stood when you had a conversation with him.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother and his sister.
Surviving is his brother, Walter H. Pidgeon, Jr. and his wife Arlene; as well as his guardian, Michelle Brito; his caretaker, Kamil Horton; his group home mates and everyone at Pillar Care Continuum NJ.
Graveside services and interment will take place at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in St. Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
