David Kohane, age 89 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Friday, January 1, 2010 in Falmouth, MA.
David was born in Nisko, Poland, March 26, 1920 and was a survivor of the Holocaust. Following World War II, he lived in Israel for ten years where he served in the Israeli Defense Forces.
Upon immigrating to the United States in 1959, David lived in New York City and then settled in Hunterdon County, NJ where he owned a poultry farm and developed the Flemington Travel Inn.
His wife, Chana Malka (nee Burstyn) Kohane, died in 1986.
Surviving are three daughters, Zipora Urbach of Falmouth, MA, Sara Reifler of Hamden, CT and Debbi Levine of Oakton, VA; a sister, Lola Borg of Brooklyn, NY; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews in the United States and Israel.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Flemington Jewish Community Center, 5 Sergeantsville Road, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
