Deanna Opdyke, age 72 years, of Scranton, PA., formerly of Delaware Township, NJ, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Born in Somerville, NJ, April 29, 1944, daughter of the late John and Virginia Hendershot Hanby, she had formerly resided most of her life in Delaware Township, NJ, before moving to Scranton six years ago.
She was a retired cook formerly with The Coffee Shop, Flemington, NJ and later with Cracker Barrel Restaurant.
Deanna was a former member of Flemington Moose Lodge.
Her husband, Arthur Opdyke, died in 1991 and she was also pre-deceased by a brother, John Hanby.
Surviving are a son, Charles Opdyke, of Glen Lyon, PA.; a brother, Edward Hanby, of Hackettstown, NJ; a half-sister, Marie Hanby, of Florida; four granddaughters and four great granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 16, 2016, at 11:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Monday 10:00-11:30 AM at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
