Born in Wertsville, NJ in 1889, she was the daughter of the late Jacob H. Wert and Anna Jane Hixson.

She was predeceased by her husband, J. Van Marter Higgins, who died in 1951.

Interment in Highland Cemetery, Hopewell, NJ.
