Denise Magalio

Denise Magalio, age 82 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died Sunday, June 16, 2024, at her home.

Born in New York City, NY, April 5, 1942, daughter of the late Nicholas and Grace Walsh Barna, she had formerly resided in Astoria, NY and North Bergen, NJ.

In Denise’s early years she worked for Pan Am in New York City as a secretary. In the 1970’s she started working as a retail associate for her brother at Pick Wick Village in Flemington, NJ. Denise then went on to start the business office store D & G Office Furniture with her husband, George Magalio and their oldest son.

An avid Hunterdon Central Regional High School concert attendee, Denise was a member of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ and assisted with the Homebound program.

In addition to her parents, Denise is pre-deceased by her husband, George Magalio in 2016. Surviving are her two children, Nick Magalio and his wife, Michele and Will Magalio and his wife, Cindy of Flemington, NJ; four grandchildren, Nicholas Magalio, Olivia Magalio, Jennifer Magalio, and Crina Magalio; one brother, Victor Barna and his wife, Regina; two nieces, Elizabeth Roy and her husband, Probir and Dianne Ambrosio, her husband, Joseph and her grand nephew, Victor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. The interment will be held privately in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 8:30-9:30 AM in the funeral home.
