Dominic J. Devitt, Sr.

Dominic J Devitt, Sr., age 79, loving husband of 55 years to Barbara (Wyckoff) Devitt, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at his home in Flemington, NJ. Born in Lambertville, NJ, November 21, 1937, he was the son of the late Dominic and Mary (Vuono) Devitt. Don, as he liked to be called, was born and raised in Lambertville where he graduated from Lambertville High School in 1955. He also graduated from Trenton Jr. College and served in the Army Reserves. He married Barbara, the love of his life, in 1961 and moved to Flemington in 1962. In addition to his wife, Barbara, Don is survived by 2 sons and 6 grandchildren. Dominic Devitt Jr., his wife Denise and his 2 children, Brandon and Camryn, reside in Danielsville, PA. Jim Devitt, his wife Alison and 4 children, Darius, Dawson, Logan and Skylar reside in Holland Twp. He is also survived by his Aunt, Connie Dudas of Flemington and his sister, Dorothy Brown, of Lambertville. Don was employed by General Motors for 43 years before he retired. He was also a realtor for Weidel Realtors for 44 years. Don was a published author. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, collecting antique clocks and fixing just about anything that was in need. Visitation and celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 6-8pm at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington, NJ. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10am at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home. Burial following the service at Lower Valley Union Cemetery, 453 County Road 513, Califon, NJ. Friends and Family are invited to come together for lunch immediately following the burial at Beaver Brook Country Club, 25 Country Club Drive, Annandale, NJ.
