Donald C. Douglas

Donald C. Douglas, age 84 years, of High Bridge, NJ (formerly of Morristown and Pittstown), died Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born September 15, 1936 in Rockland, ME, son of the late Chester and Nana Douglas, Don grew up near Everett, PA. A Penn State and Georgia Tech alumnus, he held degrees in Chemical and Electrical Engineering, which led to a 40-year career as a Systems Engineer at Bell Labs/Lucent Technologies, Whippany, NJ. An avid tennis player most of his life, Don analyzed the mechanics of each stroke in meticulous detail as only an engineer could, striving to make it easier for others to learn and share his love of the game. Surviving are his wife of fifty-eight years, Carol A. Douglas; his two daughters, Lori Douglas of Frenchtown, NJ, and Darcy Varga and her husband, Chris, of High Bridge, NJ; his brother, Gregory Douglas of Charlottesville, VA, and two granddaughters, Harley Varga of Charlotte, NC and Zoe Varga of High Bridge, NJ.
