Donald E. Hill, age 83 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at his residence.
Born in Readington Township, NJ, September 30, 1922, to the late Edward and Emma Sturm Castner Hill, he had lived in Hunterdon County his entire life, for the past fifty-five years in Flemington, NJ.
A United States Merchant Marine Veteran of World War II, Mr. Hill served from 1939-1950. He was an Extruder Operator employed by the Ethyl-Visqueen Corporation, Flemington, NJ for twenty-seven years.
He was a member of the Flemington Baptist Church, Flemington, NJ.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-six years, Edna Whitehead Hill; two daughters, Karren Thornton of Lambertville, NJ and Emma Abel of Flemington, NJ; a son, Raynold Hill of Hellertown, PA; a sister, Dorothy Tange of Flemington, NJ; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hill was pre-deceased by four sisters, Mary Denbigh, Lela Stevens, Frieda Corona and Lucy Vail and two brothers, LeRoy Schomp and Robert Hill.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ.
