Donald (Don) Frederick Dalrymple

Don Dalrymple passed quietly into eternal rest on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the home of his daughter and son in law in Phoenix Arizona. He was a member of the Flemington High School Class of 1946 where he met his sweetheart, Libby. They were married on August 13, 1950, and were blessed with 72 years of marriage.
Don is a Rider College graduate with a degree in business, Class of 1951. A merchant by trade, Don went on to assume the mantle of the family business, Dalrymple’s Market, which he sold in 1979. Don went to work for Meenan Oil in Clinton NJ and as a Real Estate Broker in Lavallette, NJ before retiring to Florida. He and Libby eventually moved to Arizona to be closer to family.
Born on November 20, 1928, to Frank Correll Dalrymple, and Hazel Lorena (Bloom) Dalrymple in Pittstown NJ Don is predeceased by sisters Kathryn A. Holden, Francis C. Cherry, Dorothy M. Dalrymple, and a brother, Elmer L. Dalrymple and a daughter, Deborah A. Dalrymple.
Don is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth A Dalrymple of Phoenix Arizona, daughter Nancy Hammack of Phoenix Arizona, and son Jeffery Dalrymple of Bensalem Pennsylvania, four grandchildren, Kyle Hammack, Brent Hammack, Heather Beckman, Alyssa Dalrymple and 4 great grandchildren.
A natural born baseball player, Don had the opportunity to play in the Tri County League and was able to play against some of the premiere barnstorming teams of the era such as the Black Yankees, House of David, the Cuban All Stars and the Homestead Grays. Later, Don became an avid golfer and was a lifelong Yankees fan who enjoyed attending ballgames and family outings to the Jersey Shore. Don was a lifetime Member of the Quakertown Fire Company serving as president from 1954 - 1957. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Quakertown, NJ, served on the Hunterdon County Parole Board and volunteered with the Boys Scouts of America as Committee Chair.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ followed by interment in the family plot in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ. Friends and relatives may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
