Donald J. Padden

Donald J. Padden, age 79, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Green Acres Manor in Toms River, NJ.

Born Christmas Day in 1935 in Bayonne, NJ, Don was the son of the late Frederick and Emily (Jurechko) Padden. He lived much of his life in Bayonne before moving to Middletown, NJ, and then to Flemington, NJ, nearly 20 years ago.

Don was a skilled Diesel Mechanic and owned and operated Don Padden’s Fleet Maintenance in Edison, NJ, for more than 20 years and retired as a Loss Prevention worker for BJ’s Wholesale in Flemington. He was a long-time member of St. Magdalen Church in Flemington, and loved spending time in his garden growing primarily plants and flowers.

Don is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Joan (Sager) Padden, his son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Donna Padden of Middletown, NJ, his daughter, Donna Padden of Wilmington, DE, his granddaughter, Sherry Padden, his four grandsons, James Padden, Brandyn, Ryan, and Travis Engler, his brother, Frederick Padden, and his sister, Dolores Tomkins.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Inurnment in St. Magdalen Mausoleum, North Main Street in Flemington will follow. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
