Donald S. Holcombe, age 101 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died Friday, March 22,2013, at his home.
Born in Ringoes, NJ, September 15, 1911, son of the late Orville and Olive Stamets Holcombe, he had resided in Ringoes, NJ and Delaware Township all his life.
He was formerly employed for thirty-five years by Oliver and Dural Rubber Co., Flemington, NJ, retiring in 1976.
Don was an avid NY Yankees fan, enjoyed traveling, gardening and mowing his lawn. His hobbies included model trains and constructing miniature buildings.
He was a member of the Delaware Township Seniors and West Amwell Seniors; the Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead Museum; Old Rocks Church of West Amwell Township, NJ, and Sandy Ridge Church, Delaware Township.
Donald was pre-deceased by his wife of sixty-six years, Marjorie Kusant Holcombe, a brother, Albert Holcombe and a sister, Dorothy Molinari.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Bruce Pitbladdo and Barbara and Richard Dubusky, all of Delaware Township, NJ; a granddaughter and her husband, Michele and Michael Duffey of State College, PA., and a great granddaughter, Kate Duffey.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 29, 2013, at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ, followed by interment in Barber Burying Ground, Delaware Township. Calling hours will be Thursday 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
