Doris E. Winchatz, aged 89 years, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Rolling Hills Care Center in Clinton Township, NJ. She lived most of her life in Bridgewater Township, NJ. Born October 3, 1926, in Whitehouse Station NJ, Doris was the daughter of the late Carl and Jessie (Selover) Foerster. Early in her life she was a Violations Clerk with Bridgewater Township, after which she held various jobs to help support her family. Doris loved to read, especially biographies and stories that were of a political nature. She and her late husband, Frank Winchatz, loved to take cross-country road trips throughout the United States and also traveled to Europe. While Doris led a simple life, she happily sacrificed much for her children to help them take advantage of the educational opportunities available to them. Predeceased by her parents, her husband of 65 years in 2009, Frank Winchatz, her sister, Leona Miller, and her half-siblings, Jessie Sokol, Helen Hess, Carl Foerster, and Anna Dempsey, Doris is survived by her son, Mike Winchatz of Honolulu HI, her daughter, Michaela Winchatz of Chicago IL, her granddaughter, Pilita Winchatz of Honolulu HI, her sister, Anita Slack of Flemington NJ, and her sister-in-law, Ronnie Ferro of Bridgewater NJ. Cremation arrangements will be private and under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Memorial contributions in Doris' name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th floor, New York, NY 10001.
