Doris F. Stout, age 79 years, of Lebanon Township, NJ, died on May 2, 2005, in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Boston, MA, March 4, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy Thompson King. She had formerly resided in Quakertown, NJ.

She graduated from the Columbia School of Nursing, New York City, and began her career in nursing and teaching which was the hallmark of her life. She married Joseph E. Stout, and raised a family. She returned to nursing and completed a teaching program at Trenton State College. Mrs. Stout's career followed her children's education. She was the school nurse at the Franklin Township Elementary School, and later became the school nurse and health teacher at North Hunterdon Regional High School. Her dedication and compassion touched the lives of hundreds of students. She retired in 1987 and then traveled extensively, making friends throughout the world. She was also a member and former clerk of the Quakertown Friends Meeting, Quakertown, NJ. Her priority was always her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Kevin Clemente of Lebanon Township, NJ; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gary E. and Paulette Marasco-Stout of Washington, PA, Joseph R. and Bhavani Stout of Whitehouse Station, NJ, and George Dennis Stout in Iowa; a sister, Betty Suydam of Lebanon Township, NJ; and three grandchildren, Krishan Clemente and Pari Clemente, both of Lebanon Township, NJ, and Jane Stout of Pittsburgh, PA.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, MAY 14, 2005, at 2 PM in the Quakertown Friends Meeting, Quakertown, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hunterdon County Chapter of the American Red Cross, 349 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ 08822.
