Doris I. Schroedel

Doris I. Schroedel, age 90, of Easton PA, died Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital Anderson Campus Easton, after a brief illness.

Born a New Year’s baby on January 1, 1934, in Lackawanna County PA, Doris was the daughter of the late Jerome and Alice (Oakley) Stone. She lived in Pennsylvania as a child and eventually moved to Hunterdon County NJ where she lived most of her life before eventually moving to Easton in 1988.

Doris worked for many years at the former RCA office in Branchburg NJ and for Ethicon as well. For some of the time at Ethicon, she helped produce surgical sutures for the medical industry.

Doris was married in 1952 to the late, Leo P. Schroedel and the two had many happy memories at the old drive-in theater in Ringoes, square dancing, rolling skating, and traveling throughout the Eastern United States. While at home, Doris often watched a favorite news program or an episode of “Judge Judy” or “90 Day Fiancé.”

Most of all, Doris treasured the time spent with her grandson, Jeremy, often showering him with trips to Disney World as well as gifts of time, love and friendship.

In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband, Leo P. Schroedel in 2023. She is survived by her son, Leo J. Schroedel of Easton PA, her grandson, Jeremy Schroedel of Three Bridges NJ, her nieces, Sandy Bolmer, Patti Bolmer Wencke, and Alice Suydam, her nephews, George Komarek, Joe Komarek, Steven Schroedel, Jerry Suydam and Mike Suydam.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery in Quakertown NJ. Calling hour will be Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’ name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
