Doris Mary Long

Doris Mary (Lamoreaux) Long was born January 7, 1922, in West Wyoming, PA. Her parents were the late Clinton and Isabelle (Davis) Lamoreaux.

Doris married Earl W. Long, now deceased, and lived in Scotch Plains, NJ, before retiring to Toms River, NJ.

Doris raised three sons: Roger William Long, now deceased, Gary Gordon Long, and Scott Alan Long.

She was formerly employed by Oakite Corporation, in Berkeley Heights, NJ and helped manage her husband’s business, Commercial Typewriter Co. and Westfield Arts Supply.

Additionally, Doris was a member of the Toms River VFW Women’s Auxiliary.

She is survived by her two sons, Gordon and Scott, her sister-in-law, Shirley Philhower, daughters-in-law, Roz Long and Darlene Long, and grandchildren: Emily, Devin, Caitlin, Abigail, Seth and Rebekah Long.

Arrangements and cremation services are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Private graveside services and burial with her late husband will be in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
