Dorothy E. Tirpok, age 80 years, of Lambertville, NJ, died Monday, December 7, 2020 at her sister’s home in Warrington, PA.
Born in Bordentown, NJ, October 25, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Frances Stuart Kessler. She was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County.
Dorothy was the retired Hunterdon County Clerk, after serving five years as Deputy Clerk and twenty-five years as County Clerk.
She was a member of the Hunterdon Soroptimist Club; a former member of the Flemington Woman’s Club; and a volunteer at the Hunterdon Medical Center Gift Shop.
Her husband, Henry Potopowitz, died in 2014. Surviving are her son, Andrew Tirpok III, of Cottonwood Heights, UT; her daughter, Mary Tirpok (Michael Haveson) of Hardwick, VT; four sisters: Patricia Allen of Easton, PA, Georgia Barber of Locust Grove, VA, Wilma Diacont of Easton, PA, and Carole Springer of Warrington, PA; her brother, John Kessler, of White Plains, NY; four grandchildren: Liberty, Cheyenne, Noah, and Jacob; and one great-grandchild, Charlotte.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 4-7 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Graveside services and burial in Cherryville Cemetery, Cherryville, NJ will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dorothy’s name may be made to the Animal Alliance of NJ, 1432 NJ-179 North, Lambertville, NJ 08530.
