Dorothy G. Housel

Dorothy G. Housel, age 96 years, of East Amwell Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Readington Township, NJ, January 13, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lydia Porter Van Doren.

She was a member of the Clover Hill Reformed Church, Clover Hill, NJ, and a former member of the Riverside Grange.

She was a 1933 graduate of Flemington High School and retired from the Hunterdon County Planning Board.

Her husband, George Housel, died in 2001. Surviving are her six children, Robert G. Housel of Raritan Township, NJ, Lawrence F. Housel of Cortland, NY, Raymond W. Housel of Asbury, NJ, Carolyn P. Hart of Flemington, NJ, Douglas W. Housel of Salem, WV, and Ronald E. Housel of Lone Jack, MO; a half-brother, Henry D. Van Doren of Denver, CO; a half-sister, Susan Van Doren of Boulder, CO; and nine grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM in the Clover Hill Cemetery, Clover Hill, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours.
