Douglas A. Nodes, age 69 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the home of his daughter in Tinicum Township, Pa.

Born in New Brunswick, NJ, July 4,1942, son of the late William and Hazel Parse Nodes, he had resided in Flemington forty-nine years. He retired from the Delaware Township Public Works Department in 2008.

An avid outdoorsman, he was a Past President of the Barbertown Sportsman's Club; life member of the National Rifle Association; member of the West Norton Deer Club and was a life member of both Buckmasters and Bassmasters and the Round Valley Trout Club. He was also a member of the Flemington Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of forty-nine years, Kathleen Thatcher Nodes; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tammy and Mark Cunningham of Upper Black Eddy, Pa. and Linda Kovacs of Flemington, NJ; four grandchildren, Katie Cunningham, Collin Cunningham, Cynthia Kovacs and Justin Kovacs; three brothers, Melvin Nodes of Punta Gorda, FL.,Wendell Nodes in Alabama, and Ralph Nodes of Vinton, VA.; and two sisters, Marion DeFiore of Piscataway, NJ and Virginia McKimm of Hillsborough, NJ.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 17,2012, at 11:00AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ, followed by interment in Cherryville Cemetery, Cherryville, NJ. Calling hours will be Monday 6:00-9:00PM at the funeral home.
