Dr. Edmund F. Tamburrino, age 90 years, of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at his home.

He was born on August 28, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY to Paul and Anita Tamburrino. He served his country in the United States Army and then went on to receive his Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA in 1946 and a Philosopher of Chiropractic degree from Atlantic States Chiropractic Institute in 1960.

Dr. Tamburrino had his chiropractic practice in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, NY, where his loyalty to serving his patients kept him in practice for sixty-two years. He previously taught at Columbia Institute of Chiropractic, was president of the New York Chiropractic Association and was chapter head of the New York Speakers Bureau, where he lectured throughout Brooklyn. Following his uncle's example, also a chiropractor, his love of his profession and his many loyal patients kept him in his office until he was 85 years old.

Dr. Tamburrino loved Readington Township, having spent summers there as a child and eventually relocating there in 1961. He loved history and volunteered as a docent at the Red Mill Museum in Clinton, NJ. He enjoyed traveling and appreciated nature and all animals, especially his dogs and horses.

He survived his beloved wife, Christine, who passed away in 1979. He was also pre-deceased by his sister, Marie Delaney of Landing, NJ.

Surviving are his daughter, Diane Barbieri and her husband Dr. Edward Barbieri, of Whitehouse Station and Surf City, NJ; his grandchildren Kimberly McLean and her husband Marshall of Bernardsville, NJ, Blair Barbieri of Norfolk, VA, and Edward Barbieri III, who follows in his grandfather's and Father's profession while studying at the Chiropractic College of Bridgeport, CT; his great-grandchildren: Marshall "Mac" and Cameron McLean. He is also survived by his brother, Paul Tamburrino of Staten Island, NY, and a granddaughter, Christine Baxevane of Flemington, NJ.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3-7 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private in St. Bernards Cemetery, Bridgewater, NJ.
