Dr. Thomas C. Blum, age 73 years, of Clinton Township, NJ, died Thursday, October 20, 2016, at his home with his loving wife at his bedside. Born in Philadelphia, PA., October 2, 1943, son of the late Emile and Florence Borradaile Blum, he had resided here for forty years. During his time with AT&T he was involved with high capacity telephones, now called cellular phones. Because Bell Atlantic believed in the financial success of these phones, Dr. Blum was hired by Bell Atlantic who used his knowledge to successfully develop and market the new cellular product. At the time of his retirement, Dr. Blum was a lobbyist for Bell Atlantic. He then became full time Pastor of The Body of Christ Ministries, Glen Gardner, NJ. Dr. Blum was also the author the book "Healing Is The Children's Bread". Dr. Blum served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Dr. Blum was a graduate of LaSalle University, Pennsylvania; received his Masters Degree from Liberty University, Virginia, and his Doctorate from Christian Bible College, North Carolina. He was devoted to the country and people of Israel, where he visited several times. While there, Dr. Blum was given the opportunity to preach on Mount Carmel where Elijah challenged the priests of Baal (1 Kings 18: 1-46). He is pre-deceased by his infant daughter, Lorraine. Surviving are his wife of forty-nine years and Co-Pastor of The Body of Christ Ministries, Lorraine Hindman Blum; two sons and a daughter-in-law, T. Adam and Michelle Blum of Whitehouse Station, NJ and Jordan Emile Blum of Greensboro, NC.; a brother Robert Blum of Homosassa, FL; his Spiritual daughter, Debra Lynn Pippin of Glen Gardner, NJ; and three grandchildren, Zoe Blum, Owen Blum and Phoebe Blum. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at The Body of Christ Ministries, 101 Voorhees Road, Glen Gardner, NJ (Lebanon Township). Calling hours will be Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to House of Mercy Mission, 4 Old Indian Spring Road, Andover, NJ 07821.
