Edith Entenberg, age 91 years, of Ringoes, NJ, died at home on Monday, August 6, 2012, under the caring auspices of Hunterdon Hospice.
She was born on February 4, 1921, to Maria and Hans Bayer in Landshut, Germany. She married and had a daughter and then lived in Munich, where she worked as a secretary. Her second marriage to Holocaust survivor Meyer Entenberg brought her, with her mother and daughter, to their poultry farm in Ringoes in 1951. There she did the demanding and endless farm work and was a steady and positive role model for her children. She later worked at United Telephone Co., where she particularly enjoyed the camaraderie with her co-workers, forming memories she often shared with fondness long after her retirement.
Her husband died in 1991 and her son-in-law, William Grossman, died in 2010. Survivors are her daughter Ilona Grossman of Frenchtown, NJ, and her son Harry Entenberg of Virginia Beach, VA. Edith was a special lady, much loved and respected for her sincerity and integrity.
Funeral arrangements and interment will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ
