Edmund M. Becker

April 17, 1943 — December 16, 2015

Edmund (Bud) Becker, age 72 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at his home surrounded by family.

Born in Chagrin Falls, OH, April 17, 1943, he was the son of the late J. Edmund and Ida Mildahn Becker. The family moved to Beaver Falls, NY where he spent most of his childhood. For the past forty-seven years he had resided in Raritan Township.

Bud was a graduate of Tilton School, Tilton, NH and Parsons College, Fairfield, Iowa. Employed first by Western Electric, then AT&T, and finally the County of Hunterdon, retiring as Director of IT.

He was a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 10-13 01SR.

One of Bud's joys was the family's summer camp in the 1000 Islands on the St Lawrence River where he had spent more than sixty years. Here he imparted the love and knowledge of messing around with boats and water activities to his children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. Another great joy was his love of skiing, where again those skills were passed down to his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of forty-nine years, Andrea; two sons, Andrew of Westfield, NJ, and Adam of Watertown, MA; his sister, Joanne Palaia of Philadelphia, PA; and his grandchildren: Sean and Alexandria.

A Memorial Service will be held in Stanton Reformed Church, 1 Stanton Mountain Road, Stanton, NJ 08885 on January 9 at 11:00. Interment will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
