Edna Bellis, 83, of Rock Hill, S.C., died Monday, Aug. 28, in Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. She was employed by Rohr Industries in California for 27 years before retiring. Born May 15, 1917, in Ringoes, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Clara Schellenger Holcombe. She was a resident of Rock Hill for 20 years. She formerly resided in San Diego. She was a 1935 graduate of Flemington High School. She attended the Trenton Conservatory of Music from 1935 to 1937 where she studied
piano. She was an organ student with Norman Landis of Flemington, a former composer and organist for many years at Flemington Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill. She was a church organist and pianist for more than 40 years at various churches.
She is survived by her husband, Hiram I.; and a daughter, Joan M. of Sand Lake, Mich. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Amwell Ridge Cemetery in Ringoes. There will be no calling hours. The Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington, is in charge of arrangements. The family requests memorials to the church, 1300 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
