Edna Mcpherson

Edna McPherson, age 99 years, of Pittstown, NJ, died on Saturday, June 11, 2005, in the Country Arch Care Center, Union Township, NJ.

Born in Quakertown, NJ, October 8, 1905, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Melissa Hoff Mathews. She had resided in the Quakertown/Pittstown area all of her life.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cherryville Baptist Church, Cherryville, NJ for over eighty years. She was a member of the Stewart Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Clinton, NJ; was former president of the Alexandria Township PTA; a former Sunday School teacher, and a former Brownie Scout leader.

Her husband, Herman S. McPherson, died in 1972, and a daughter, Ruth Van Lieu died in 1986. She was also pre-deceased by a brother and four sisters. Surviving are a son, John H. McPherson of Pittstown, NJ; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2005 at 10 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Cherryville Cemetery, Cherryville, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
