Edward C. Zakrzewski, Sr., age 67 years, of Ringoes, NJ (East Amwell Township), died on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at his residence.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, November 29, 1936, son of the late Carl and Julia Korap Zakrzewski, he had resided in Ringoes thirty years and was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County.
He was a reactor operator for Tenneco Chemicals, Raritan Township, NJ and then was employed by the N.J. Department of Transportation, Flemington, NJ, retiring in 2002. He was also Chief of Security at Flemington Speedway and Fairgrounds.
Mr. Zakrzewski served in the U.S. Navy 1955-1959 and was a 1955 graduate of Flemington High School.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Evans Zakrzewski; four sons, Edward, Jr. of Three Bridges, NJ, Erik of Exton, PA, Keith of Upper Black Eddy, PA and Trevor of Flemington, NJ; a daughter, Julianne Macarone of Ft. Myers, FL; a brother, Joseph Zak of Flemington, NJ; two step-sons, Michael Waisempacher of Piscataway, NJ and Matthew Waisempacher of Flemington, NJ; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Ronald Zak, predeceased him.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Ringoes, NJ.
